4th Folder, 4th Picture Tag

This lovely photo is brought to you courtesy of Lisa's 4th folder, 4th picture tag. I'm supposed to go to my photo file and choose the 4th picture from the 4th folder. This is what I got:

This shot is from June of 2004. It was taken at my baby shower when I was pregnant with Buggy. I don't think I could possibly have chosen a more random photo.

BTW: Mel, that couch was the best. I miss it. And to Lisa - serves you right that I would happen to pick a picture with you in it, since you are the tagger here.

Tagged Again!

Thanks to Chari for this one. (Okay, secretly I don't mind doing tags, I think they are kind of fun and they often make me think - but don't tell anyone).

25 Random Things

I've been hit with this one at least 4 times, so I am going to get it over with (not to mention the fact that it finally gives me something to post about). It was actually kind of fun, but I'm not going to go through the painstaking effort of tagging 25 people, so if anyone wants to do it, knock yourself out.

1. I love playing drums. It was my major in college, I taught it for a long time, and I miss it. It just isn't practical with my kids and current lifestyle.
2. For a while in college my job was reading obituaries for the Alumni office. (Not kidding, I really got paid for it.)
3. I love reading of any kind, but I harbor a secret enjoyment for magazines - something about the brainlessness of it.
4. My husband and I met at a party, where he spent the whole night hitting on me, then left without my number and had to try and track me down after.
5. I'm actually very girly, I love dresses and heels, and frilly stuff, and totally loved dolls as a kid (still kind of do), and am therefore really excited to have a girl, knowing my luck though, she'll be a tomboy.
6. I'm not a terribly social person, but I love my friends and I love getting together with them.
7. I have some strong OCD tendencies.
8. I really like crafty projects like card making, and sewing - but I don't particularly enjoy scrapbooking.
9. I secretly fear having to work in scouts when my boys get to be that age.
10. I wish my backyard had a fence.
11. I've only kissed one other guy, than my husband.
12. I apologize too much. I don't know why - I just do.
13. I have two boys, who I wouldn't trade for anything, even though some days they drive me crazy.
14. I love beef. Especially when I am pregnant.
15. I'm currently experiencing pregnancy number four, kid number three, and girl number one. and pending any major disasters will be giving birth in exactly 6 weeks from today.
16. I love playing my wii, we got it more for us (my husband and me) than for the kids.
17. I have a true passion for GOOD ice cream.
18. I also have a thing for Cheesecake, and I make really good cookies too (but I promise I'm not as obsessed with desserts as it sounds like I am).
19. I like blogging. It's one of those things that I said I would never get into, and then had to eat my words.
20. I am the youngest of 6, and there is a 22 year spread in my family. My husband is also the youngest of 6, with an 11 year spread. Both with 3 boys, 3 girls. And where ever there is a boy in my family, there is a girl in his, and vice-versa.
21. My kids currently have 42 first cousins, with at least one more pending after my baby girl is born. (No wonder I always miss birthdays)
22. Even though we have big families, my husband and I both like things kind of quiet - I think that's why we handle it okay, even though we are very far away from them all.
23. I don't really like my birthday, I like others, just not mine.
24. I hate having my picture taken. Photos of just me are a rarity.
25. The only nights I have ever spent away from my kids, have been in hospitals. (I really need a vacation I think).

Just Because I Can

I know that this is two very similar posts in a row. What can I say, things have been slow lately, and I have no camera (hopefully the latter will be remedied shortly).

Anyway, I got this as an e-mail a few days ago, and rather than annoy anyone by forwarding it, I will annoy everyone by posting it here (insert evil smiley face here). If you would like to participate, consider yourself forwarded to. (LaShaunna, this is for you)

It's Saturday Night!

I found this on my friend Kellie's blog, and it looked like fun, so I had to try it. I did cheat a little bit and only used only my playlist on the iPod, not my husband's or kid's, but I did have it on shuffle.

Come play along...
1. Put your music listening device on shuffle.
2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
3. You must write that song name down no matter how silly it makes you look.
4. Title this post what the answer to your last question is.
5. Good luck and have fun!

I Got Tagged!

Kellie from Mere Motherhood tagged me with a "random things" tag.

The Rules for playing TAG:

*Link to the person who tagged you
*Post the rules on your blog
*Write six random things about yourself
*Tag six-ish people at the end of your post
*Let each person know he/she has been tagged
*Let the tagger know when your entry is up

1. I have a thing for Ice Cream. I'm picky though, it has to be good ice cream. And by good, I mean it either has to be Aggie Ice Cream, or from Cold Stone.

2. I'm a worrier/planner/control freak. It drives my husband (and probably most other people) crazy, but I always have to think about every possible scenario in my life, and make a (usually very detailed) plan for it. When something is completely out of my control, it drives me absolutely bonkers.

3. I love eating out, it is definitely my preferred form of entertainment. But, when I find something I like, I stick with it. I am not terribly adventurous when it comes to trying new foods.

4. When I am pregnant, I get terrible cravings (probably explaining all of the food related things in this post). This time around, its all about the beef, and I am going nuts trying to get a good chicken fried steak, that I don't have to cook myself.

5. I love to read, and I get bad insomnia when I'm pregnant. Therefore, I can measure each kid by how many books I got through while I was pregnant with them (mostly enjoyed in the middle of the night).

6. I love shopping. I hate spending money, (I am eternally cheap) but when I can shop guilt free, I'm in heaven. I think gift cards are the greatest inventions ever.

I tag Cheronne, Desirae, Lisa, Alycia, Mel, and LaShaunna

July 22, 2008

Tagged!

I've been tagged by Kellie. "Three" - and here they are:

Three Joys:
1. My Family and My Faith
2. Learning
3. Really Really Good Music

Three Fears:
1. Losing My Kids (in every sense of the word) or My Husband
2. Nightmares - Same as Kellie, I have had some crazy vivid ones lately where I wake up panicked and near tears.
3. The Dark - Yes, I am still afraid of the dark. I use night lights all over the place and we keep one of our hallway lights on all night.

Three Goals:
1. Be Grumpy With My Kids Less, and Happy With Them More
2. Get more organized
3. Take Time Everyday to Enjoy What I am Doing

Three Obsessions:
1. Stamping/Making Cards
2. Magazines - I know, kind of weird, but I love to read magazines.
3. Reading

Three surprising facts about me:
1. I Rock at Wii Bowling, but suck at Wii Tennis. In real life, I suck at bowling, and can hold my own at tennis (or at least I "used-to-could")
2. I Love to play drums. I used to do it a lot (and I was pretty good) but I had to give up playing/teaching for a while when Beefy was born. Hopefully someday I'll go back.
3. This one is kind of cool. I am the youngest of 6-three boys, three girls. My husband is also the youngest of 6 (3 and 3) and wherever there is a girl in my family there is a boy in his and vice-versa. There is a 22 year gap in my siblings and only an 11 year gap in his.

Three people I'm tagging:
1. Leanne
2. Julie
3. LaShaunna (welcome to blogging)

Thanks Kellie! That is always fun, and some of those really got me to think which is always good.

June 28, 2008

Two Of Your Favorite Things To Do: craft projects, read
Two Things You Want Very Badly At This Moment: loose weight, and have a baby (i know, its totally counter intuitive)
Two Favorite Pets: I'm honestly not really a pet person. Maybe I'd like one that wasn't messy, like a fish (that cleaned its own bowl). I also really like my son's stuffed dog, that he treats like a real pet. He named it "Spike", and he even has a toy bone and a leash for it.
Two People Who Will Fill This Out: Lisa, Mel
Two Things You Did Last Night: Watched the kids play outside, went out to dinner
Two Things You Ate Today: Pancakes, a glass of skim milk
Two Last People You Talked To: My kids, and my Husband,
