So, I've had people ask me how the cloth diapering is going. I've been at it long enough that I now feel like I can make a reasonably educated review of the experience.
I have to admit, I was a skeptic when it came to cloth diapering. I never thought I would do it. But as I read reviews and heard my cloth diapering friends rave about it, I decided to give it a try. I am now completely, totally, 100% sold on it. At least I am sold on the diapers I use, I can't speak for the other methods out there that I haven't tried.
We've been using the diapers for a little over a month now, and they have been fantastic. We have had some leaking here and there, but usually only wet and only a little bit. She has only blown out of them twice, and once was in a diaper that she'd been wearing all night that I hadn't changed yet. We haven't had any diaper rash while wearing them either, and we can usually go all night in one diaper.
In contrast - we put her in disposables for the week we were on vacation. She had at least one blowout a day for the whole week (lots and lots of laundry/stain removing that week). I admit, she was in size 1 diapers at the time and she had almost grown out of them; but I used some size 2s while I was washing this week, and she has blown out of them pretty badly a couple of times too. My husband even had to leave church on Sunday to take her home and change her because she had blown through the diaper (size 2 disposable), her tights, onesie, bum cover, and dress. I feel like I have to change her much more frequently with the disposables, for fear that the instant she poops, we will ruin another outfit.
My only real complaint with the cloth diapers is that I will occasionally get some light staining. Washing them in a load with some bleach takes care of it. And besides, they're diapers. They don't have to be perfectly white for her to be able to poop in them.
Overall, very impressed/pleased with the experience. I would recommend it to anyone out there who is interested.

Diapers
So, my new diapers came last week. I'm pretty excited about them. My husband is mostly on board, still a little unsure, and I have assured a few of my unconvinced friends that I won't force their use when they are babysitting.
My sister and I were talking a few weeks ago, and I had to convince her that I wasn't doing this because we couldn't afford "real" diapers. The cost of diapers was a factor, but not the only one in this decision.
Now that I have them though, I've had the fears that I won't be able to handle it and I'll have to switch back to disposables. I'm sure it's just the hormone/baby fears thing creeping in, but I really hope it isn't true. I've read such great things about them, and had such raving reviews from the people I know who have used them, that I am mostly confident that it will be a good experience.
And even my unconvinced husband agrees that they are pretty cute. (who ever would have thought a diaper could be cute)

What's New in Our Lives?
Just a few items, that didn't quite warrant their own post, but that I wanted to get out there anyway.
1. Today was Beefy's last day of therapy (hooray!). All of his testing came back right at the 50th percentile. It was good enough for his therapists, and definitely good enough for me. Plus it means I don't have to get up early on Tuesday mornings, which I am very grateful for.
2. I have an ultrasound next week. I am excited, but a huge part of me is really scared too. Is that crazy? But, we should be able to find a gender which would be great and a definite perk.
3. The boys are very excited about Halloween. Buggy asks me every night if it is Halloween yet. I think that the thought of another week and a half just might kill him.
4. I am tossing around the idea of using cloth diapers with this next baby. Maybe I really am crazy, but I've gotten really good feedback from people who have done it, and found only raving reviews online. I am looking at using this particular version. Kind of cool, no? I would love opinions, on this subject especially.
I hope everyone has a great day.
