Day 3

My Parents:


How many people can say that they have a picture of their parents riding a camel? (I have one of them on an elephant too.)

My parents are great. They taught us (me and my siblings) how to work, how to value education, and overall how to be good people (productive members of society).

They are currently serving as humanitarian missionaries in Indonesia (something completely out of their comfort zone, yet exactly the right thing for them to do). They would do anything for their kids (and grand-kids), and I've never had to question whether or not they'd be there when I really needed them.

Day 2

My First Love:





Now, don't get me wrong. I love my husband and my kids more than life itself. They are my most important love.

But, as far as a "first love" goes... long before there were boys in my life, there was music in my life. It was a definitive part of who I was growing up and especially as a teenager (those of you who knew me then might be laughing right now at that huge understatement).

It feels strange sometimes still to be in that new chapter of my life where home and family are first priority. And sometimes I miss being able to play like I used to. But in the end I know I wouldn't trade what I have now, nor do I wish I would have done things differently.

It can always be my "first love" though.

Day 1

In an effort to motivate myself to post on here a little bit more (cause I know you are all dying to know more about my super interesting life....***sarcasm***), I have decided to try and take on the 30 day challenge you see on my left sidebar.

Really, I've seen this a ton lately in different blogs I read, and I thought it might be kind of fun, and a good way to record a few random things that I might have fun looking back on later. (You should try it too...go on, it'll be fun!)

Apparently, I spend more time behind the camera than in front of it.

15 "interesting" facts about me:

• I prefer raw cookie dough to baked cookies. Don't get me wrong, I love cookies too, but if I've got to choose - I'd go with the dough.
• My music tastes are many and varied. I can go from listening to classical, to rock/alternative, to Jazz and Broadway in a single setting. My i tunes play-list is kind of schizophrenic.
• In a former life...I taught high school kids how to play drums. In an even more former life...I played drums myself, and loved it.
• I love the show Phineas and Ferb, and have been known to watch it even when my kids aren't around. I also have a thing for the Food Network and some of the Discovery Channels (discovery, TLC, Discovery health, science etc.)
• My husband and I usually stay up way too late, doing nothing.
• I Love, Love, Love high heels and ruffles and "girly stuff". (although, most days you'll find me in jeans and a t-shirt)
  
• My favorite Candy: Frozen Twix Bars! (try it, you'll love it, and never want to eat a regular twix bar again) I've been know to pilfer all of the twixes from my kids trick-or-treat bags so I can stick them in the freezer and hide them.
• If I could "farm-out" doing the dishes...I would! I hate doing the dishes.
• I love reading magazines (maybe I've spent too much time in waiting rooms, I don't know).
• I'm a Harry Potter nerd (I even have an Albus Dumbledore quote on my wall).
• I've been feeling old lately. I've recently had a few people mistake me for being about 5 years older than I am. It's my 10 year reunion this year (where did it go). And, I recently registered my middle child for kindergarten. I'm going to have two kids in school. When did this happen?! Thankfully some of my beehive girls saw a picture of me from high school last week, and said I look exactly the same. (thanks, I think.)
• I'm not a pet person. I've consented to let my kids have fish, but I don't think I will ever be able to let anything furry (or slimy for that matter) live in my house.
• I've set a goal for my self to re-listen to and read all of the talks from the last general conference.
• I still check on my kids to see if they are breathing while they sleep (yeah, they're 2, 5, and 7).
• When I was a kid I dreamed of being famous. The funny thing is...I'm painfully shy.

April? Really?

Okay, so in my world it's not supposed to be the middle of April yet.

But, since my calendar doesn't usually lie to me, I must accept that indeed it is. So here's a quick recap of April so far:

I've also been putting in quality time with my sewing machine, and just enjoying hanging out (when we can). I don't know how we got so busy, but for some reason...we are. Hopefully soon, things will start to slow down.

We found a break in our crappy weather a few weeks ago, and took advantage of it by going out to update our family pictures (we needed some that weren't in front of the Christmas Tree). I'll give you fair warning, this post is picture heavy!

New Crafty Home

So, my crafty projects have a new home! Me and two of my friends have gotten together and made a place where we can share our projects (cause we always seem to have one). I hope you'll come check us out:

Anyway, on a side note - I hit 400 posts this last week. Wow! That sure went fast. I started this blog almost 3 years ago, but it sure doesn't feel like it's been that long. Thanks so much to you guys who still pop by every so often to see what we're up to. I love my bloggy friends!

Sunday Afternoon

We raced to the mailbox this afternoon, and he raced a little too fast. Forehead met cement, poor kid. After some Tylenol he wanted to ice his knee, he fell asleep this way. I wish I could say that this is a first for him (meaning the road-rash), this poor kid seems to trip over his own feet more than anyone I know though.

Look What the Tax Return Fairy Brought Me!

Yeah, I pretty much totally and completely love it. It plays beautifully (even if it's player doesn't ; )) It's in tune (something my other piano was not), and all the keys work (so very cool! Another feature my old piano did not posses.)


I even love the shiny black finish (it wasn't my first choice but it's what fit in the budget). I'm just really grateful for my big bottle of ammonia-free Windex to help me battle the fingerprints.
